Mercedes ML Hybrid Overheating Issue

My 2010 Mercedes ML hybrid is acting up The engine's overheating like crazy with only 43755 km I think it's the electric fan not working right Maybe a bad cable or plug in the cooling system or the electric motor itself Coolant levels are fine What else could cause this overheating Is it the fan clutch

Overheating in a hybrid with a bad electric fan can be tricky The engine cooling system is complex A defective cable or plug is possible, but the diagnostic process should be thorough Is the electric motor getting power when the engine temperature rises Check the fuses and relays for the fan The temperature sensors might be sending bad data Do you have an OBD-II scanner to check for error codes related to the cooling system or the electric motor The fan clutch shouldn't be the problem

Thanks I don't have a scanner How do I check if the electric motor is getting power when it's overheating I'm worried about live wires If it is the temperature sensor, how do I test that Can I do it myself, or do I need a workshop

Given your concerns about electrical work and the uncertainties, avoid working with live wires Diagnosing temperature sensors needs tools and knowledge While it's good that you're trying to troubleshoot, a professional is best A bad diagnosis could cause more problems and expensive repairs The overheating could cause engine damage if not fixed soon See a certified mechanic

You were right The mechanic found a corroded connector on the electric fan They cleaned it and replaced the connector for 95€ The overheating is fixed Thanks for the advice I appreciate it
