Mercedes ML Hybrid torque converter issue

I have observed a marginal decrease in fuel economy. As for vibrations, yes, there is a perceptible shudder, most noticeable during acceleration at lower speeds. Did your issue also turn out to be the torque converter, and what was the resolution?

Yep, torque converter was the culprit! It's like the heart of the automatic gearbox, and when it goes bad, everything goes haywire. In my case it was the lock-up clutch. Given your symptoms and the error code, it sounds like you're heading down the same road. Honestly, I'd get it checked out by a transmission specialist sooner rather than later. Continuing to drive it could cause even more damage. Better safe than sorry, you know?

I appreciate your insights and shared experience. It appears a visit to a qualified workshop is indeed the prudent course of action. I will proceed accordingly and provide information once the matter is resolved. As suspected, it was indeed the automatic transmission converter. The lock-up clutch within had failed, necessitating a complete replacement. The symptoms have abated, and the vehicle now operates as intended. Thank you once again for your assistance.

Whoa, that sounds rough! I have a similar ML, and I had something similar happen a while back. Check engine light, weird shifting... it felt like the car was struggling to find the right gear, almost like a slipping clutch on a manual. Did you notice any difference in fuel economy or any unusual vibrations?
