Mercedes ML Seat Heating Problem

Thanks for the quick reply. The fuse is fine. I visually inspected the wiring harness without removing the seat and saw no damage. Would the specific error code offer more clarity than just confirming a seat heating circuit fault? I will check tomorrow. Could a partially defective heating element be possible, or would it fail completely?

Yes, the specific error code is crucial. It can indicate open circuits, shorts, or resistance issues. A heating element can fail completely, degrade to provide little heat, or cause an intermittent fault. Given the mileage, the heating element is likely worn. Visiting a workshop is advisable.

I appreciate the advice. The error code points to a faulty heating element in the seat cushion. I'll replace the seat heating mat at the workshop and will provide information once the repairs are complete. Thanks again for your assistance!

Sounds like the heating element is failing. Have you checked the wiring harness under the seat for damage or disconnections? Is the seat heater fuse good? A blown fuse would prevent heating. Find the exact error code from the scan for more clues. Otherwise, a new seat heating mat is likely needed.
