Thanks for the reply You mentioned checking the wiring Where exactly is that located Is it something I can easily get to without taking apart the whole engine I'm not super technical, so any pointers would be appreciated

Given the configuration of the Mercedes R Klasse, the charge air temperature sensor is typically located on the intake manifold or the intercooler piping Access may require removal of some ancillary components for clear visibility If you are not comfortable with automotive diagnostics, I would advise having a qualified technician perform a comprehensive inspection Continuing to operate the vehicle with a compromised charge air system can result in further damage I would recommend going to the workshop

Thanks a bunch Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – it was a dodgy connection on the charge air temperature sensor They cleaned it up and replaced the plug, and the total damage was only 95€ Runs like new now Really appreciate the help

The symptoms you describe align with a potential issue in the charge air system The diagnostic trouble code pertaining to the charge air temperature sensor suggests a fault within that circuit Specifically, the whistling noise and reduced power are indicative of a pressure leak I would recommend inspecting the integrity of the sensor's wiring harness and connector for corrosion or damage A malfunctioning automotive sensor can certainly trigger such issues
