Thanks for the quick reply I haven't checked the sensor readings specifically Where is the sensor located, and is it something I could replace myself without special tools I am trying to avoid a costly repair

I wouldn't recommend replacing it yourself unless you're confident The sensor is usually located near the DPF While it's a simple part, the diagnostic work is best left to a professional If it is the sensor, I believe the eventual repair cost would be around 245€

Thanks for the advice I took it to a workshop, and it was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor They replaced it, and the warning light is gone, the smoke is gone, and the DPF is regenerating again The total cost was exactly what you estimated I appreciate the help

Sounds familiar I had a similar issue with my R Klasse Same symptoms: warning light, smoke, and DPF problems For me, it was the exhaust sensor It's a key component in emission control, and when it goes bad, it throws everything off Have you checked the sensor's readings with an OBD scanner
