I ran a diagnostic and it threw a code related to the mass air flow. Just wondering if you remember what your repair cost was, and if replacing the MAF sensor fixed everything for you?

While I cannot provide an exact cost estimate due to variations in labor rates and parts pricing, replacing the MAF sensor did resolve the issues I encountered. Given the diagnostic confirmation and the correlation of symptoms, it would be prudent to seek a qualified mechanic for sensor replacement. However, it is vital to ensure there are no underlying issues, such as air leaks, that may be contributing to the problem.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, they confirmed it was the MAF sensor and replaced it. The final bill was 365€, and the car runs like a dream again. Fuel consumption is back to normal, no more stalling, and the check engine light is gone. Appreciate the help!

The symptoms you describe are indeed indicative of a potential mass air flow sensor malfunction. I own a similar Mercedes R Klasse, albeit I am uncertain of the build year. I experienced comparable issues, specifically engine stalling and the illumination of the check engine light. Has the vehicle undergone any recent diagnostic testing to confirm the error code associated with the mass air flow sensor?
