Thank you for your prompt response. I have not yet attempted disconnecting the battery; I will certainly try that. Regarding a diagnostic tool, I do not currently possess one. Could you recommend a specific type of tool that would be suitable for reading the error codes related to the sunroof system on my Mercedes?

The battery disconnect is just a simple first step, it doesn't always work. As for a diagnostic tool, it really depends on your budget and how deep you want to go. A generic OBD2 scanner might read some basic codes, but for more specific sunroof control module issues, you'd probably want something that can access Mercedes-specific codes. I would suggest taking it to a workshop.

I appreciate your insights and recommendations. Following your advice, I decided to take the vehicle to a qualified workshop. It turned out that the sunroof calibration was indeed corrupted due to the coding modifications. They performed a sunroof reset and recalibrated the system. The total repair cost was 75€. Thank you again for your time and assistance.

I had a similar issue on my older BMW 5 series after some software changes. The sunroof control module sometimes gets confused. Have you tried disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes to see if it resets the system? Also, do you have access to a diagnostic tool that can read the sunroof system's error codes? That might give you a clearer picture of what’s going on with the sunroof system.
