Mercedes R Klasse Transmission Control Module Issue

My 2011 Mercedes R Klasse diesel with 183000 km seems to have a dead transmission control unit Paddle shifters don't work, gearbox slips and makes grinding noises It's slow to respond and emergency mode is on Error memory confirms something Anyone seen this before

This sounds like a common issue with the 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox The symptoms you describe, including the inability to shift via the paddle shifters, slipping gears, unusual noises during shifts, delayed response, and emergency mode, strongly suggest a problem with the transmission control module Has the car had any recent maintenance or repairs that might be related

No recent work at all It just started out of nowhere You think it's definitely the control module then

Given the symptoms and the error codes you mentioned, a defective transmission control module is the most probable cause However, without a proper diagnostic inspection, it is difficult to confirm I would recommend consulting a qualified workshop for a complete diagnostic assessment Expect a transmission repair that might cost around 1000€, depending on the extent of the damage and whether a new or refurbished control unit is used
