When you say 'connection under the seat', are we talking about where the main wiring harness plugs into the seat, or a specific connector related to just the massage seat?

Yes, the main wiring harness where it plugs into the seat itself. Specifically check the pins in the connector for any damage. If that looks good it is probably switch failure and time to get a new massage seat unit.

Appreciate the help! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was a loose connector under the seat. They sorted it for 95€.

I have an S Klasse too. Similar issue. Check the connection under the seat. The car upholstery can sometimes pinch the wires. The seat motor might not be getting power if the connector is loose or damaged. It's a common problem.
