Mercedes SL Engine Start Problem Anti Theft Error

My 2022 Mercedes SL with a gasoline engine is acting up. It only has 56589 km on it. The engine refuses to start most of the time. Sometimes it starts briefly, only to die immediately. I scanned it, and there's an error stored related to the anti-theft system. I suspect it is a car immobilizer issue with incorrect key programming. Has anyone experienced something similar? This car electronics nightmare is costing me valuable time

I had a similar problem with my SL. Same symptoms. Immobilizer. Did you try your spare key?

Thanks for your response. I did try the spare key, but the problem persists. Could you elaborate on what fixed the issue for you? Was it definitely a key programming issue, or something else related to the car immobilizer or anti-theft system?

Yes, it was the key programming. The dealer had to reprogram it. I suggest you take it to a workshop.

Appreciate the confirmation. It seems key programming was indeed the culprit. Took it to a workshop, and for 45€ they sorted it out. Apparently, the anti-theft system needed a reset after some weird car electronics glitch. Thanks again
