Regarding error codes are you referring to specific DTCs that could pinpoint the sensor failure or are there other indicators I should be looking for Also in your case was the sensor replacement the definitive solution or were there additional steps

Yes I mean DTCs In my case the error pointed directly to the steering angle sensor After the sensor replacement the car needed to be properly aligned and the new sensor calibrated If you are not familiar with that I would suggest going to a workshop I think the symptoms are very similar

The diagnostic trouble codes indeed pointed towards the steering angle sensor and after sensor replacement and recalibration the issue appears resolved The electronic stability and traction control systems are functioning as expected Thank you for confirming my suspicions I was quoted 195€ which seems reasonable

I had something similar on my SLC The steering felt heavy and the ESP light was on Could be the steering angle sensor Did you check for any error codes That would be the first step before assuming sensor replacement
