Sensor testing sounds like a good idea. I'm not very familiar with the process though. Could you elaborate on how to perform sensor testing on a camshaft sensor? Also, how would I check the crankshaft sensor?

Sensor testing usually involves using a multimeter to check the sensor's resistance and voltage output. Honestly, without the right tools and knowledge, it can be tricky. Given the stalling issue and check engine light, plus your suspicion of the camshaft encoder wheel, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the issue and replace the sensor if needed.

You were absolutely right. I took it to a trusted workshop, and they confirmed the camshaft sensor was indeed defective, likely due to the encoder wheel. The eventual repair cost me 695€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds like a plausible cause. A faulty camshaft sensor can definitely cause those symptoms. The crankshaft sensor also plays a role in ignition timing, so it might be worth checking that as well. Have you tried any sensor testing to confirm the camshaft sensor is indeed the culprit?
