Mercedes X Klasse Diesel Running Lean
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mercedes X Klasse diesel is experiencing a lean running condition, characterized by reduced power, a check engine light, rough engine performance, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion is on the fuel injectors, despite checks on the mass air flow sensor, throttle body, and oxygen sensor. After pulling diagnostic codes confirming a lean condition, professional testing and replacement of the fuel injectors resolved the issue, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Thanks for the quick response! I pulled the codes and it's definitely pointing towards a lean condition. I'm leaning towards the fuel injectors, but I'm not sure how to test them properly without pulling them all out. Any tips on that?

Testing them in place is tricky. Based on your symptoms and the codes, I'd say it's worth getting them checked professionally. Could save you a lot of time. My injector replacement sorted the issue.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to the workshop and you were spot on, fuel injectors were bad. Replaced all of them and it's running great now. Cost me 515€ but worth it. Thanks again!

Sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my old Vauxhall Astra different engine, but same symptoms. Check engine light, power loss, the works. Turned out to be the fuel injectors in my case too. Did you check for any codes? That check engine light should have thrown something. Could also be a vacuum leak somewhere.
