Mercedes X Klasse electrical and navigation issues

I'm officially stumped and hoping someone can throw me a lifeline. I've got a 2018 Mercedes X Klasse with a diesel engine, clocking in at 168375 km. Recently, it's been acting possessed by gremlins. The main issue seems to be some kind of vehicle software malfunction. I'm getting a persistent error stored in the error memory, alongside a whole host of general electrical issues. To top it off, the navigation system has completely given up the ghost. My onboard diagnostics are pointing towards implausible programming of the control unit. The workshop quoted me around 240€ for a possible software reset and recalibration. Has anyone else experienced anything similar with their X Klasse? Any insights before I bite the bullet and hand over my hard-earned cash?

Sounds rough! I've got an X Klasse too and had a similar thing happen a while back. Random electrical weirdness, and the nav system packed it in. Did the error messages seem related to the control unit at all?

Yeah, the errors I was getting were definitely related to the control unit. I tried a few things myself, but in the end, I had to take it to a workshop. They did some kind of software reset and recalibration, and it sorted it right out. Honestly, it sounds like you're on the right track. Best bet is probably a workshop to check it over.

Thanks for the confirmation! I was hesitant to just throw money at it without a second opinion. Knowing someone else has had a similar issue and resolved it with a software reset makes me feel a lot better about the diagnosis. I'll book it in and hopefully, that'll be the end of it. Cheers!
