Mercedes X Klasse emergency call malfunction

My 2018 Mercedes X Klasse with a diesel engine is displaying an emergency call system malfunction. The speedometer shows an error message and a warning light, and the error memory also stores this fault. Could this be a common issue?

Emergency call malfunction? Sounds familiar. I have an X Klasse as well, and had a similar issue with the telematics. Was there ever a call failure? Did they mention anything about a faulty control module?

Yes, a defective cable or plug connection can trigger the SOS signal error. If it's the same issue I had, it’s best to get it checked at a workshop. They will diagnose the control module. Is it worth risking ignoring the error?

Thank you for the advice. I had it checked, and it was indeed a defective plug connection, as suspected. Repair cost was 95€. All seems fine now.
