That makes sense. I haven't tried that exact reset procedure. When you say ignition on, do you mean engine running, or just key in position two? Does it matter which window I start with?

Just key in position two is enough, you don't need the engine running for the window reset. It shouldn't matter which window you start with, but I'd go driver's side first. If that doesn't work after a few attempts, the regulator or window switch might be faulty. Then visit a local workshop.

It worked! I held the button down for a good 10 seconds after it bottomed out and the same going up. All windows are working again. Thanks for saving me a trip to the workshop. They quoted me 290€ for a new regulator!

I had similar issues with my X Klasse after disconnecting the battery. The window regulators need to be re-taught their limits. Try this window reset procedure: ignition on, hold the window switch down until it bottoms out, keep holding for a few seconds, then pull the window switch up until it hits the top, and again keep holding for a few seconds. Repeat for each window.
