Micra AC Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Nissan Micra diesel experienced a complete AC failure, with the system refusing to switch on and displaying a warning light. The issue was suspected to be related to the AC control unit, but another owner suggested checking the refrigerant pressure, as a leak could cause the compressor to shut down. Ultimately, a professional diagnosis confirmed a compressor failure, which was resolved at a cost of 980€.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the refrigerant pressure myself, as I don't have the proper tools. But if it was the refrigerant, wouldn't that just mean a top-up is needed? Is the compressor failure still possible?

While a refrigerant top-up might temporarily address the issue, a compressor failure in a 2021 Nissan Micra diesel is certainly plausible given the symptoms you describe. It would be advisable to seek a professional diagnosis to ascertain the root cause before attempting any repairs.

Thanks a bunch for the insight! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. The compressor was indeed kaput. Ended up costing me 980€ to get it sorted. Lesson learned!

I also own a Nissan Micra, and those symptoms point towards a refrigerant compressor failure. Have you checked the refrigerant pressure? A leak can cause the compressor to shut down and trigger the warning light.
