Micra Audio System Failure

Hi, I've got a 2008 Nissan Micra diesel with only 22922 km on the clock. Recently the audio system has completely stopped working. No sound at all. I plugged it into a diagnostic tool and it's showing an error stored in the error memory, nothing specific though. Has anyone experienced something similar? It's looking like a defective display, but any insights appreciated before I start ripping things apart.

I had a similar problem with my Micra's sound system no audio at all. Check the basic stuff first, like the fuses. If that's not it, it might be a deeper issue with the head unit the main unit of the car’s audio system.

Cheers for the reply. Fuses were the first thing I checked, all good there. Did your error code also point towards the display, or was it something else entirely?

Mine didn't specifically say 'display', but the garage diagnosed it as an internal fault with the head unit itself. They reckoned it was easier to replace than repair. Might be worth getting a professional opinion.

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. Spoke to a mechanic and they said that, due to the error and description I gave over the phone, they can confirm that the display is defective and would cost around 725€ to get fixed. Going to take it to the workshop later this week.
