Micra diesel power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Nissan Micra diesel is experiencing power loss, poor engine response, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. These issues may be related to a faulty manifold pressure sensor or a vacuum leak near the intake manifold. Checking for hissing noises and inspecting sensor connections are suggested steps. Professional diagnosis and repair are recommended to address the problem effectively.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't noticed any hissing, but I'll definitely check around the intake manifold for vacuum leaks. What exactly did you end up doing to fix yours?

Vacuum leaks are often hard to detect due to their high frequency noise. Given that all symptoms fit with a faulty manifold pressure sensor caused by a large vacuum leakage, I'd advise taking it to a trusted workshop for diagnosis and repair. I ended up paying 235€ for them to detect and fix a similar leakage and replace the sensor.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'll get it checked out by a professional then. At least I have some idea of what to expect now. Cheers!

Hello, sounds familiar. I have a Micra diesel too. My symptoms were similar, definitely a lack of power. Have you noticed any hissing noises, indicating a vacuum leak near the intake manifold? Check the sensor connections as well!
