Micra Electric Steering Defect

My 2003 Nissan Micra, gasoline engine, 232883 km, has a defective electric steering column adjustment. Error is stored and the column can no longer be adjusted electrically. Root cause appears to be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered something similar?

Electric steering issues can be tricky. Have you checked the relevant fuses and relays before assuming it's a wiring fault? Also, is the battery in good condition?

Fuses and relays appear fine. Battery voltage is normal under load. Are there any specific connectors or wiring harnesses that are known to be problematic on this model?

Given that you've eliminated the simple culprits and suspect a wiring issue, it's advisable to consult with a workshop, especially if you lack extensive diagnostic tools. Without proper equipment, further troubleshooting could be difficult.

Cable defect confirmed; connector replaced. Electric steering column adjustment now operational. Total cost 95€. Thank you for your input.
