Micra electrical malfunction transport mode
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Nissan Micra with 107,972 km is experiencing electrical malfunctions, including navigation issues, and appears to be stuck in 'transport mode,' as if it were new. The problem is likely due to incomplete software configuration, causing the car's systems to malfunction. A suggested solution is a software refresh or reconfiguration, which typically requires a visit to a dealership or workshop. After a quick software reconfiguration at the shop, the issues were resolved without any cost.

Thanks for the reply! The engine starts fine, thankfully. What kind of 'nudge' are we talking about? Is this something I can do myself, or am I looking at a trip to the dealer?

In my case, the 'nudge' was a software refresh that only the dealer could perform. Think of it like a computer that hasn't finished installing its operating system. It might 'boot up,' but key features won't work until everything is fully loaded. Given the electrical issues you're describing, my advice would be to head to a workshop to have them check the software.

Okay, I understand. I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but it seems like the best course of action. Thanks for your help! Just got back from the shop - a quick software reconfiguration fixed everything. The bill was 0€. Appreciate the advice!

That sounds frustrating! I actually had a similar experience with my 2018 Volvo V60. It acted like it was fresh off the factory floor. Is the engine starting okay? It sounds like the car configuration isn't complete. Perhaps, the software needs a little nudge to fully 'wake up.'
