Micra Oil Temperature Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Nissan Micra diesel is experiencing an oil temperature warning light issue, with an error related to the oil temperature sensor. The problem may be due to a defective cable and plug connection to the sensor. A similar case suggested that the sensor wiring might be faulty, and it was advised to have it checked at a workshop to prevent potential engine damage. The issue was resolved by replacing the connector and sensor, restoring the vehicle's functionality.

Good to know I'm not alone! It's mostly constant, but there are moments when it flickers and then goes solid again. Did yours end up being the sensor itself or something else?

Mine was playing peek-a-boo like that too. Honestly, I'd wager it's the sensor wiring. While you might be able to bodge a fix, I'd say get it checked at a workshop. A bad sensor reading can lead to real engine damage. Better safe than sorry, right?

You're spot on. Took it to the shop, and you nailed it – faulty connection at the sensor. They replaced the connector and sensor to be safe. Cost me about 95€, but at least my Micra's happy again. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar. I've got a Micra too. Had something similar happen – oil gauge acting up. Is the warning constantly on or does it flicker?
