Mini Cabrio Airbag Warning Light Rollover Sensor Malfunction

Alright, I'm officially stumped. My 2023 Mini Cabrio electric is throwing a fit. The airbag warning lamp is constantly lit on the speedometer, and the error memory keeps logging a rollover sensor malfunction. From what I've gathered, it looks like the affected control unit is defective. Anyone else seen this before? Vehicle safety is kinda important, and I'm not thrilled about the prospect of a 1000€ repair bill for the tilt sensor and related gubbins.

Sounds familiar. I had similar gremlins with my Mini Cabrio. Airbag light, codes pointing to the SRS. Have you checked the basics, like battery voltage? A weak battery can cause all sorts of weird electrical issues.

Yeah, I gave the battery a check with a multimeter, seems okay. Was your Mini flagging the tilt sensor specifically, or just general SRS errors?

Nah, mine was more vague SRS codes. But given the error you're seeing, and the fact that it's pointing directly to the rollover sensor, it really does sound like that module has gone kaput. Probably best to get it looked at by a pro, especially with airbag systems involved.

Cheers for the help! Dropped it off at the shop, and you called it – fried control unit. New tilt sensor and recalibration later, and the airbag light is finally gone. Ouch, 1000€ lighter, but at least the Mini's safe again. Appreciate you sharing your experience!
