Interesting, thanks for the insight. When you mention checking the vacuum system, where exactly should I be looking? And did you experience any overheating with your issue, or just the power loss and error code?

Yeah, my bad, I forgot to mention the overheating. That was definitely present. As for the vacuum system, check all the hoses connected to the bypass valve and intake manifold. Any cracks or loose connections can cause issues. Honestly though, based on your symptoms, I'd recommend getting it to a workshop. They can run proper diagnostics.

Just wanted to close the loop on this one. Turns out the bypass valve issue was a ghost. Found a small coolant leak that was causing overheating and throwing off the error codes. Fixed the leak, codes cleared, and the Mini Cabrio is back to its old self. Thanks for the advice!

Bypass valve issues on these Minis can be tricky. I had something similar happen on my Mini, though it was the petrol version. Experienced a noticeable power loss and an error code related to the exhaust system. Any other symptoms besides the overheating? Have you checked your vacuum system for leaks? That can sometimes trigger these kinds of errors.
