Mini Cabrio check engine light and low coolant

Okay, no obvious leaks and the fan is behaving. Next thing I would do is keep a very close eye on the coolant level over the next few days. If it's dropping quickly and you still can't see any leaks, it could be a sign of something more serious, like a head gasket issue. Better to get it checked out at a workshop to be safe, it could prevent bigger problems later. Think of it like a small leak in your house, address it early and it won't become a flood.

I've looked around, and I don't see any obvious leaks. The cooling fan seems to be working normally, only running when the engine is hot. Where else should I be looking?

Thanks for the help. Apparently, it was just a defective plug connection like the error memory said. 95€ and I'm back on the road.

Low coolant and a check engine light on your Mini is never a good sign. I had a similar experience with my Mini. First thing to check is obvious, are there any visible leaks? Check around the coolant reservoir, radiator hoses, and even under the car for any puddles. Is the cooling fan running constantly, even when the engine is cold?
