Mini Cabrio Rearview Mirror Heating Issue

Yeah, there's an error stored about the heater element. Fuse is fine. You mentioned the wiring loom – was it obvious where the issue was, or did you have to chase it down?

Sounds like exactly what I had. The issue was a corroded connector within the door, near where the mirror wiring enters. It's a common spot for water ingress apparently. I'd say it's worth poking around there first before shelling out for a new heater element or a whole new rearview mirror. To be honest, unless you're comfortable with auto electrics, paying the 95€ might be worth it in the long run. At least they'll pinpoint the fault, and you won't risk buggering anything else up.

Cheers for the help! Took it to the workshop, turns out it was a corroded connector as you suspected. 95€ later and my rearview mirror is toasty again. Bloody glad it's sorted before the real cold weather kicks in.

Mirror heater playing up, eh? Had a similar gremlin in my Mini Cabrio. Do you get any error codes? Mine was throwing a fault for the heater element. Have you checked the basics, like the fuse and the wiring loom to the mirror? Could be a simple fix before you start thinking about mirror replacement.
