Mini Clubman Blower Problem

Alright, I'm officially stumped! My 2010 Mini Clubman is giving me headaches! The fresh air blower has decided to retire, and I am NOT happy! The blower motor simply refuses to work, no matter what fan speed I select. I've got an error stored in the error memory too, which is not a good sign. My gut feeling says the blower motor is defective. Anyone experienced this before with their Mini or a similar car? I'm freezing here! No air circulation whatsoever and it is getting to me!

That sounds incredibly frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Volvo – the heater fan would just quit. In my case, the fan speed controller module was the culprit. Do you have air conditioning in your Clubman? If so, is that also not working? Have you checked the relevant fuses?

Interesting, I didn't think about the fan speed controller. The air conditioning is also not working, correct. I'll check the fuses now, but where is the fan speed controller usually located?

Okay, so the AC not working too points more strongly towards the blower motor itself. The fan speed controller regulates the voltage to the motor, and if the motor is dead, it won't matter what the controller does. Given that you have an error code and the fuses are okay, my professional recommendation is to take it to a reputable workshop for proper diagnosis and repair. You could try replacing the blower motor yourself, but it can be a fiddly job, and you'll need the right tools.

Thank you so much for the help and sharing your experience! I took it to the workshop, and indeed, the blower motor was defective. They replaced it, and now the heater fan is working perfectly again. The whole thing set me back 365€, but at least I have proper air flow again! Really appreciate the quick diagnosis.
