Mini Clubman brake pedal feedback
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around unusual brake pedal feedback in a 2009 Mini Clubman. The initial problem involves inconsistent pedal feel, suspected to be related to undervoltage. A similar issue was resolved by addressing an intermittent undervoltage affecting the ABS, which was confirmed as the cause. The solution involved replacing brake rotors and calipers.

The feedback is most apparent at lower speeds. Can you elaborate on the undervoltage causing this?

Okay, low speed... Mine did it at low speeds too. It turned out to be an intermittent undervoltage issue that was messing with the ABS. It made the pedal feel really weird sometimes. It isn't straightforward to diagnose yourself, so I suggest getting it to a workshop for diagnostic.

Acknowledged. It appears the undervoltage was the culprit. Replacement of the brake rotors and calipers plus labor totaled 240€. Thank you for the advice.

Strange feedback from the brake pedal... I had something similar with my Clubman. Do your squeaky brakes only act up sometimes, or is it consistent? I ended up checking my brake system, thinking hydraulic brakes were the issue. Was the pedal soft or more like a vibration? Is the feedback constant? Thinking about symptoms helps to diagnose, like how a doctor checks your reflexes. Did you check the brake rotors and brake calipers for wear?
