Mini Clubman bypass valve malfunction

Vacuum system, huh? Is there a particular part of the vacuum system I should be looking at? And what would a leak there have to do with the bypass valve?

That's exactly what happened to me. The leak messed with the air intake, which then threw off the bypass valve readings. Better to take it to a workshop; they'll smoke test the vacuum lines and pinpoint the issue efficiently. It could also affect your fuel efficiency long term, and in my experience, even cause the engine to stall.

Just wanted to give an update. Turns out, it was a minor vacuum leak causing the bypass valve error. A quick fix at the workshop, and everything's running smoothly. No charge! Thanks a bunch for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Clubman. The engine overheating and that code could be linked. Have you checked the vacuum system? It's like the circulatory system of the engine; if there's a blockage or leak, things go haywire.
