Mini Clubman diesel system readiness issue

Okay, so it's likely the car diagnostics interfered with the emissions monitors. The drive cycle is a specific set of driving conditions your car needs to go through to reset those monitors. Basically, the car needs to run through a specific set of parameters, like cold start, varied speeds, etc. Usually, the car's computer will automatically reset it after a while. If you cannot get it to reset, it might be worth visiting a workshop.

OBD2 scanner, yeah, that's exactly what I used. Cleared the codes, but the error message in the speedometer is still there. A computer reset didn't solve it. Drive cycle? What's that exactly? Any tips?

Just wanted to update you I got it sorted. Turns out, after some digging, it was just due to the car diagnostics messing with the system. A simple computer reset didn't do the trick, but after driving it through a specific drive cycle as suggested by the manual, the check engine light went off, and the system readiness check is now complete. Passed my emissions test with no issues. So, no cost in the end. Thanks for the help!

System readiness incomplete, huh? Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane after I ran some car diagnostics. The check engine light stayed on, and it failed the emissions test. Was it also after you used an OBD2 scanner? Did you clear the error codes?
