Mini Clubman electrical fault

Thanks for the quick reply! That's interesting. So, you reckon it's the clutch switch, even with all those different symptoms? The engine doesn't start at all, just cranks and cranks. I did a quick look at the fuses, but maybe I missed something. Where exactly is the clutch switch located? Is it easy to get to, or am I going to need some special tools?

Yep, sounds very similar to what I went through. The clutch switch can cause all sorts of weirdness with the electrical system. If the engine is cranking but not starting, that definitely points towards it. Honestly, the switch itself isn't too expensive, but getting to it can be a pain. It's located up near the clutch pedal assembly. You'll probably need to contort yourself a bit to get at it. If you're not comfortable working in tight spaces, I'd suggest just taking it to a workshop. Those symptoms combined with the error code you mentioned, it's almost certainly a faulty switch.

Just wanted to give a final update. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! It was indeed the clutch switch. They replaced it, and all the issues are gone. Cruise control works, gear selection is displayed again, and the error is cleared. Cost me 95€, exactly as they quoted. Thanks again for your help!

Whoa, sounds like a proper headache! I had something similar happen with my Mini – though it wasn't a Clubman, the symptoms ring a bell. Car was acting all sorts of possessed. For me, it was a faulty clutch switch causing all sorts of electrical mayhem. Does the engine crank at all when you try to start it? Have you checked the fuses, especially the ones related to the engine management system?
