Mini Clubman Jerking and Whistling

My 2012 Mini Clubman diesel is giving me some grief. The check engine light is on, and it's jerking when accelerating. I'm also hearing a whistling noise, almost a loud hissing, when I put my foot down. Sometimes the engine even stalls at idle. Fuel consumption has increased, and the engine power feels reduced. I suspect a bad boost pressure sensor. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the culprit?

Sounds like a boost issue for sure. Have you checked the air intake for any obstructions? Also, is the whistling noise constant, or only under acceleration?

The whistling getting louder with acceleration likely confirms a pressure leak. A faulty boost sensor or its wiring could definitely cause those symptoms. Given the stalling and power loss, I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop. They can properly diagnose the sensor and the wiring to the intake manifold and turbocharger.

I did a quick visual inspection of the air intake, but nothing obvious stood out. Regarding the whistling, it's definitely more pronounced when I accelerate. Does that point to anything specific?

Thanks for the input. I got it sorted. It was indeed the boost pressure sensor. The workshop confirmed the cable to the sensor was faulty. They replaced the connector, and now the Mini Clubman is running smoothly again. Total cost was 95€.
