Mini Cooper Diesel Auxiliary Heater Problems

Alright, I'm officially losing my mind over this auxiliary heater on my 2012 Mini Cooper Diesel! The parking heater simply refuses to activate, and the error memory is screaming at me. I've got a strong feeling it's the glow plug that's gone kaput. Has anyone else wrestled with this gremlin?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Mini Cooper. The auxiliary heater refused to kick in, and I also had an error code. Have you checked the coolant level? A coolant leak can sometimes cause the auxiliary heater to shut down as a safety measure.

Interesting point about the coolant leak. I haven't noticed any puddles, but I'll definitely check the level tomorrow. Besides the coolant, did you experience any other symptoms, like issues with the blower motor or climate control acting weird?

Yeah, the coolant was fine in my case. No issues with the blower motor either. Honestly, after checking the basics, I just took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the glow plug. Much easier than messing around with it myself in the cold!

Alright, thanks a lot for your help! It was indeed the glow plug. I bit the bullet and took it to the workshop. Cost me 440€, but at least the little beast is warming up properly again. I appreciate the quick replies!
