Mini Cooper Electric Radio Reception Issue

I am experiencing radio reception issues with my 2021 Mini Cooper Electric. The infotainment system displays an error message, and the audio system is non-functional. Furthermore, the error memory stores a corresponding fault. Based on my preliminary assessment, a defective antenna is the most probable cause. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? A defective antenna signal amplifier or an antenna booster could also cause a weak FM signal. The expected repair cost is about 255€.

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old sedan, a different make altogether. The FM signal would cut in and out, and sometimes I'd only get static noise. Did you check the antenna ground connection? On my previous car, it was just a loose wire.

Thank you for your input. Where exactly was the antenna ground connection located on your old car? Was it easy to access?

The antenna ground was near the base of the antenna, under the headliner. Accessing it was a pain; I had to partially remove the headliner. Given your Mini is electric and newer, and you are getting error messages, I'd suggest letting a qualified workshop diagnose it. It could be more than just a loose ground; like a faulty signal amplifier.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems like the issue is very similar. I will schedule an appointment with the workshop to have the antenna checked. Thank you for your help.
