Good to know I'm not alone! The smoke is definitely black, and yes, the DPF regeneration won't complete. Was it a straightforward fix for you, or did the workshop encounter any complications?

Black smoke points to unburnt fuel, which makes sense if the DPF isn't regenerating due to a faulty exhaust system pressure sensor. For me, replacing the sensor was the solution. I would suggest taking it to a workshop for diagnosis; they should be able to confirm it quickly.

Just got the Countryman back. It was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor. Total cost was 245€. Thanks for confirming my suspicions, it saved me a lot of needless worrying!

I had a similar issue with my Countryman. Warning light, sluggish acceleration. Does it also struggle during DPF regeneration? It sounds like a faulty pressure sensor, as you suspect. Is the smoke black or more of a greyish colour?
