Mini Countryman Electric alarm system malfunction

I'm having some trouble with the alarm system on my 2023 Mini Countryman Electric. The alarm doesn't seem to be working at all, and I'm getting an error in the error memory that says something about a siren communication fault. I looked it up, and it sounds like it could be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do?

That's a frustrating problem to have! I experienced something similar with my Countryman's alarm system. Is the car throwing any specific error codes? It sounds like a wiring issue, possibly a loose connection or corrosion somewhere in the system. A security breach due to a faulty automotive alarm is not ideal.

Thanks, that's helpful! I did get an error message related to a siren communication fault, but I'm not sure how to check the wiring myself. Did you find the cause of your signal problem yourself, or did you bring it to a workshop?

I ended up taking mine to the workshop. The alarm system wiring issue can be tricky to diagnose without the right tools. I had the same 'siren communication fault'. It's probably best to get it checked out professionally to ensure the problem is properly fixed and doesn't lead to further issues.

Just wanted to give an update. Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed a wiring issue with the alarm siren. They replaced the defective plug connection. Cost me 95€, exactly as they estimated. Thanks for your help!
