Could a non-genuine fuel filter truly cause the fuel pressure regulator to malfunction?

The fuel rail pressure sensor connection was indeed one of the first things I checked, and it appeared to be secure. I opted for an aftermarket fuel filter, which I now regret.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems like the issue was indeed related to the fuel filter replacement, as suspected. It was a faulty fuel pressure regulator, and the error entry confirmed the diagnosis. Fortunately, the repair cost was only 45€. I have noticed a slight improvement in fuel efficiency, too.

I understand your frustration. I had a similar issue with my previous car, a Vauxhall, although it was a petrol engine. The check engine light illuminated, and the engine experienced misfires, which resulted in reduced engine power. I would start by checking the fuel rail pressure sensor connection, as a loose connection can cause similar symptoms. Did you use genuine parts during the fuel filter replacement, or did you opt for aftermarket components?
