Mini Countryman engine trouble

Alright so, my 2016 Mini Countryman has been acting up lately. The check engine light is on, and it feels like the engine is struggling, like it has reduced engine power. Plus, I'm pretty sure I'm using more fuel than usual. I've heard it could be the exhaust sensor, maybe even a heat sensor problem. Could it be something else?

Sounds like your exhaust sensor is acting up, mate. Is the engine management light on? Have you noticed any difference in how the car drives?

Yeah, the engine management light is on. And the car feels a bit sluggish, almost like it's lost some power. Could a faulty exhaust sensor really cause all these problems?

Reduced power and higher fuel consumption definitely point towards a faulty exhaust component. A leak in the exhaust system is a common cause for these sensors to fail. Best get it checked at a workshop before it causes further damage to the engine.

Just wanted to let you know I got it sorted. Turns out it was a leak in the exhaust, like you suspected. They replaced the exhaust sensor and fixed the leak. Cost me 265€, but at least the engine light is off and it's running smoothly again. Thanks for the advice!
