Mini Countryman Mirror Heater Problems

I'm at my wit's end with this blasted mirror heater on my 2017 Mini Countryman Hybrid. It's completely dead. Error memory shows a fault, and the mechanic suspects a defective cable or plug connection. I'm dreading mirror replacement in the cold weather. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my BMW 3 series. The rearview mirror heater wasn't working properly, especially during cold weather. Check the wiring and the plug connection to the heater element. Is there voltage?

I didn't fix it myself. I also checked the wiring and the plug connection of the component, but I went to the workshop in the end. They confirmed the defective connection and replaced it. I recommend having it checked to avoid further issues with the car mirror.

Hey, just wanted to give you an update. Took the Countryman to the workshop. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection in the rearview mirror heater element, like you suspected. They replaced the connector, and the heater is working again. Cost me 95€, just as estimated! Thanks a bunch for your help!
