Mini One Diesel Engine Trouble

I am at my wit's end. My 2020 Mini One diesel is playing up. The engine's running rough, the check engine light's on, and the error memory says something about needing to reset quantity drift compensation. From what I've gathered, it points to a defective injection valve injector. Has anyone dealt with this before? What does the reset procedure involve?

Rough running and check engine light? Sounds suspiciously like what happened with my old Opel astra. I had similar symptoms. Have you checked the onboard diagnostics for any specific error codes? It might be related to fuel mixture. I wonder if a compensation adjustment could help. Does your fuel economy seem worse than normal?

Compensation adjustment? What exactly does that involve? And how would I go about doing it?

Well, in my case, the compensation adjustment involved the ECU trying to correct for a faulty injector. The car was constantly trying to adjust the fuel mixture because one injector was underperforming. Eventually, it couldn't compensate enough, hence the error. I wouldn't attempt a system reset myself. I recommend a workshop. They'll diagnose properly and probably need to replace the injector anyway. And they will definitely perform the reset procedure afterwards.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Injector was defective. They did the replacement and the reset procedure. Cost me 515€ but the engine runs smoothly now. Thanks for the help!
