Thank you for your quick response! I do not have a multimeter to hand; however, could a defective battery sensor cause these symptoms, including the error message in the speedometer and the weak car battery when starting the engine? I saw this mentioned as a possibility. Could that also explain why the vehicle battery is not charging properly?

A defective battery sensor could certainly be the root cause, especially if it's impacting the battery charging process. The error message and other symptoms align with that possibility. Given the complexity, I would recommend consulting a qualified mechanic for a proper diagnosis and repair. Replacing the sensor yourself could lead to further issues if not done correctly.

I wanted to provide closure on this issue. As suggested, I took my Mini One to the local mechanic. They confirmed the battery sensor was indeed faulty, leading to the low battery issues. The total repair cost was 315€. Thank you for your advice; it saved me a lot of unnecessary troubleshooting!

The symptoms you describe suggest potential issues with the car battery or its charging system. I had a similar experience with my old Peugeot – error messages, flickering lights, and eventually a complete battery failure. Have you checked the battery's voltage recently? A multimeter can provide a quick assessment.
