Mini One Oil Level Sensor Issues

My 2004 Mini One is throwing a fit. The speedometer is displaying an error message, and the error memory has a stored fault related to the oil level sensor signal. To top it off, the oil pressure warning lamp lights up, even though the oil level seems fine. The car has only done km. From what I've read, it could be a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor. Anyone else experienced this? It feels like chasing shadows in the dark.

Sounds like a similar thing happened with my Mini. The oil gauge acted up, giving me false warnings. Did you check the oil level manually to confirm it's actually ok?

Yeah, I checked the oil with the dipstick. It's spot on. So, you think it's just a faulty sensor then? What exactly went wrong with yours?

Mine was similar, the oil signal was all over the place. The sensor itself was fine, but the connection was dodgy. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop to be sure. Better safe than sorry when it comes to automotive oil.

Update on my Mini One. Took it to the shop, and as suspected, the oil level sensor cable was the culprit. They replaced it, and the error is gone. Total cost was 95€. Thanks for your input!
