Mini One Turbo Issues

Okay, I'm officially losing it with my 2017 Mini One! The check engine light is on, and it's jerking like crazy when I accelerate. Plus, there's this whistling noise and a loud hissing sound under acceleration. Sometimes, the engine even stalls at idle. Fuel consumption is also up, and power is way down. I've read it could be the turbo boost pressure sensor, and maybe a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else had this?

Sounds like you're experiencing a classic turbo boost issue. I had something similar with my Mini a while back. The check engine light, jerking, and hissing are all telltale signs. Have you checked the pressure sensor itself and the wiring around it? A faulty connection there can definitely cause those symptoms.

Interesting! When you say 'pressure sensor', are we talking about the turbocharger boost sensor? Where exactly is that located, and how can I check the connection?

Yes, I am referring to the turbocharger boost sensor. It's typically located on the air intake manifold, or close to the turbocharger itself. Inspect the cable and plug connection for corrosion, loose wires, or any signs of damage. However, due to the potential impact on engine performance, consider visiting a workshop.

You nailed it! I took my Mini One to the shop, and the mechanic confirmed it was a dodgy connection on the turbo boost pressure sensor. 95€ later, and she's running like new. Thanks for the help!
