Mini Paceman fog sensor problem

I'm at my wit's end with what appears to be a fog sensor problem in my 2013 Mini Paceman. The error memory is storing a fault, the air conditioning system refuses to engage, the windshield washer nozzles are frozen even at moderately cold temperatures, and the mirror heating is non-operational. Given these symptoms, and based on some preliminary research, I suspect a defective cable or plug connection related to the humidity sensor. Has anyone encountered a similar cluster of electrical issues? Before I commit to the anticipated 95€ repair, I'd greatly appreciate any insights or shared experiences. It's like everything decided to quit working at once!

I had something similar happen with my MINI – though it wasn’t a Paceman. My air conditioning wouldn't kick on, which was unbearable. Check the connection to the humidity sensor itself. Is there any visible corrosion or damage? It's like checking the fuse box when the lights go out; start with the simple stuff.

Interesting analogy. You mentioned a similar issue. Can you elaborate on which sensor connection specifically caused your climate control problems? Knowing that might help me narrow down the problem on my Paceman. I'd rather not chase every wire if I can avoid it.

Yes, mine was definitely related to the humidity sensor wiring. While I can't recall the exact wire without digging through old service records, the garage identified it quickly. Honestly, given all those symptoms popping up together, and if you're already suspecting a wiring fault, I'd strongly suggest having a workshop take a look. It could save you a lot of headache.

Update for anyone experiencing similar fog sensor frustrations in their Paceman: I took it to a trusted workshop, and as suspected, a corroded connector was the culprit. The humidity sensor cable was indeed defective! The 95€ repair cost aligns with my initial research. No more dashboard warning lights, and the air conditioning is thankfully functional again. Thanks for the input; it helped confirm my suspicions and saved me diagnostic time.
