Mini Roadster ABS and Speedometer Issue

I'm experiencing a rather vexing issue with my 2013 Mini Roadster Diesel. The ABS lamp is illuminated, accompanied by traction control problems and a complete ABS system failure. Initial diagnostic points towards a defective control unit affecting the speed signal. Has anyone encountered a similar malfunction? I suspect this is the root cause of the speedometer going crazy. The projected repair cost is around 1000€, and I am trying to understand if there are any other potential causes before committing to replacing the control unit.

Sounds familiar. I had similar ABS and traction control issues with my Mini, also a Roadster. Was the speedometer acting erratically too?

Yes, the speedometer input was all over the place before the ABS decided to throw in the towel completely. Did you experience the same, and if so, what was the ultimate fix?

Yep, speedometer was wonky, then ABS light came on, same symptoms. Eventually, I took it to a workshop, and they diagnosed a faulty ABS control unit. Replacing it sorted the issue out.

I've had the control unit replaced, and it seems to have resolved the malfunction. Cost me about 1000€, but at least my Mini Roadster is back on the road and the speedometer is working correctly again.
