Mini Roadster ABS Fault Lateral Acceleration Sensor

Thank you for your reply. Regarding the wheel alignment, I have not checked it specifically, but I have not noticed any pulling or unusual tire wear. As for other fault codes, the only code present relates directly to the lateral acceleration sensor. Could a faulty ABS module cause such a sensor error even if it doesn't report its own separate error?

Given the absence of other fault codes and the presence of a lateral sensor specific code, it is highly probable that the sensor itself or the associated control unit is the source of the problem. A defective ABS module could theoretically influence sensor readings, but if the diagnostic points to the lateral sensor, replacement of that component or its control unit is a reasonable course of action. I would suggest having a workshop confirm the diagnosis prior to replacement.

I appreciate the confirmation. I took the Mini Roadster to a certified workshop, and the lateral acceleration sensor was indeed diagnosed as faulty. The electronic control unit required replacement, which included recalibration of the vehicle stability systems. The wheel alignment was checked post-repair. The ABS and traction control systems are now functioning correctly, as indicated by the error memory being clear and the ABS lamp being off.

Have you checked the wheel alignment? An issue there could cause aberrant readings from the lateral sensor. Also, are there any other fault codes present, particularly related to the ABS module or any of the wheel speed sensors?
