Mini Roadster audio system failure

I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2015 Mini Roadster has decided to go silent. The entire audio system is dead – no radio, no audio connectivity, nothing. It's like someone cut the wires. I've checked the basic stuff, but I'm suspecting it might be the bass speaker, as I've heard they can be problematic. Anyone else experienced something similar?

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar! I had a similar thing happen with my Mini Roadster, though I can't recall the exact mileage when it occurred. The whole sound system just went kaput, no audio whatsoever. Have you checked the fuses? It might be something simple like that. Does the USB audio still work, or is it completely dead?

Fuses are all good; that was the first thing I checked. USB audio is also dead, so it's not just a radio issue. It's like the whole sound system is muted. What exactly was the issue with yours? Was it a gradual thing, or did it just suddenly stop working?

Yeah, mine just died suddenly, no warning whatsoever. It was the bass speaker in my case too. Seems like a common issue with these. Honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly, but I'm betting that's your problem. Think of it like a light bulb that just burns out – sometimes car speakers just give up the ghost. It is worth checking for any sound distortion before you take it in, but based on what you've said, I would be surprised if it was anything else.

Just wanted to close the loop on this. Took it to the shop, and as feared, the bass speaker was indeed the culprit. New speaker installed, and the audio system is back in action. Cost me 280€, but well worth it to have my tunes back. Thanks for the insight; it saved me a lot of unnecessary troubleshooting!
