Yeah, there's an error stored in the memory. Did you have the same error codes when your automotive sensor went bad?

Yes, it sounds like the same issue. I would strongly recommend a visit to the workshop. They will be able to diagnose it properly. If it's just a defective cable or plug connection of the component, it is an easy fix.

Thanks for the help. I took it to a shop and they confirmed it was the engine oil temperature sensor. The cable was indeed defective. They replaced the sensor and cable for 95€. All good now.

That sounds awfully familiar. I had a similar problem with my Mini Roadster. The oil pressure light kept coming on, and it turned out to be a faulty car sensor. Was it throwing any error codes?
