Mini Roadster Radar Sensor Issue Resolved

I am writing to report an issue with my 2015 Mini Roadster. An error message is consistently displayed in the speedometer, accompanied by a warning light, indicating a malfunction with the radar sensor. Diagnostic checks confirm an error stored in the error memory related to the radar sensor, which also seems to be causing failures in various other systems. I suspect a dirty sensor may be the cause. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I see. I recall encountering a similar electronic issue with my Mini. Specifically, the adaptive cruise control malfunctioned, triggering a radar sensor error. If I remember correctly, it also affected other systems. Did you check the sensor itself for any obvious signs of damage or obstruction? It might be a simple fix like cleaning it.

That is certainly useful information. When you mention 'cleaning,' could you elaborate on the specific area that requires attention? My understanding of the radar system is admittedly somewhat limited, and I want to ensure I address the appropriate component.

While I managed a temporary fix, it ultimately returned. Given the complexity of the adaptive cruise and radar calibration required, a workshop visit is likely necessary. They possess specialized tools for accurate diagnosis and recalibration. In my case, it was indeed diagnosed as a faulty radar sensor connection, causing the sensor malfunction.

I wanted to provide an update regarding my Mini Roadster. As suspected, the radar sensor was indeed the culprit. A simple cleaning, costing 45€, resolved the issue entirely. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
