Mini Roadster steering column adjustment issue
Summary of the thread
The 2012 Mini Roadster has a steering column adjustment issue where it no longer adjusts electrically, and an error is stored. The garage suspects a defective cable or plug as the cause. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by tracing the wiring loom and addressing a dodgy connection. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty plug connection, which was repaired, restoring the steering column's functionality.

Cheers! Fuses seem okay. When you say 'dodgy connection,' was it obvious or did they have to really dig around to find it?

Nah, wasn't obvious at all. They had to trace the wiring loom back from the steering column. The mechanic mentioned something about CAN bus interference... Anyways, I'd still get it checked at a workshop, could be a mechanical fault too.

Just wanted to let you know that the workshop confirmed it was a faulty plug connection as suspected. 95€ later and the steering column adjusts again! Thanks for the help!

Sounds like a similar headache I had with my Audi. The electric steering packed it in, and it turned out to be a dodgy connection. Have you checked the basics, like fuses?
